Such criteria include:
• Low growth rate - to reduce cutting
• Ability for close mowing - for golf greens etc
• Low maintenance - for areas which require little cutting
• Wear tolerance - hardwearing areas such as play lawns, football pitches etc
• Salt tolerance - for road sides
• Colour
